A violinist from Puerto Vallarta needs everyone's support.

Last weekend, the La Aurora neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta was the scene of a tragedy that has shaken the artistic community and everyone familiar with the career of violinist Ángel Olea Romero. A devastating fire consumed her home in the middle of the night, leaving her without belongings, without material memories, and with severe burns that keep her hospitalized today. But the most painful thing of all is that the fire also threatened to extinguish a dream built over years: to share beauty, passion, and humanity through music.

Ángel Olea Romero is not only a renowned violinist in the region. She is a generous, loving woman committed to her art and her community. Throughout her life, she has participated in countless cultural projects, been part of orchestras, taught classes, and taken her violin to venues where art heals and transforms. Her music has been a comfort, inspiration, and hope for many. Today, she is the one who needs that same comfort, that same hope, but also concrete help.

A life on the ropes, now in flames

In the early hours of the morning of the disaster, Ángel was caught in the fire while she was sleeping. What had once been her refuge, her creative space, was reduced to ruins in a matter of minutes. Despite the flames, she managed to survive, although her body suffered considerable burns that required immediate hospitalization. She will remain hospitalized for several more days, and her recovery will be slow, expensive, and demanding.

The medicines and care she currently requires are not fully covered by the regional hospital. Some drugs must be purchased privately, which represents a financial burden impossible for her to bear alone. Therefore, today her family, friends, and colleagues have mobilized in an urgent call for solidarity.

A call to the heart of Puerto Vallarta and beyond

Those who have had the privilege of knowing Ángel know that her essence is made of kindness. She is not an artist who has sought fame or personal recognition, but rather someone who has dedicated her talent to enriching those around her. Every note that flowed from her violin emanated love, empathy, and dedication. Now, in this critical moment, her light continues to shine, but she needs everyone's support to keep it alive.

An account has been opened to receive financial donations, which will be used to cover medications and medical treatments, and, later, to help her rebuild her home and life.

Culture is also defended with solidarity

Supporting Ángel is not only an act of charity, it is an affirmation of the value of our local artists. It is recognizing that behind every concert, behind every musical note that beautifies our evenings and events, there is a story of sacrifice, discipline, and passion. It is also an opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much without asking anything in return.

Puerto Vallarta is distinguished by its human warmth and for being a community that unites in the most difficult times. Today we have the opportunity to demonstrate this once again.

We ask you not only to donate, but also to share this message with those who can help. Solidarity can move mountains. Together, we can be the support network Ángel needs to get back on his feet, to play his violin again, and continue filling the world with beauty with his art.

From the bottom of our hearts, on behalf of Vallarta Today, to those who have already supported us, and to those who are yet to do so. May this call not be forgotten, but rather be the beginning of a great display of collective love.
