Amy Armstrong of Duo Dorado: Live Streamed Concert Event

This Friday night at 7:00 Amy Armstrong and Fernando Gonzales, also known as Duo Dorado, will be hosting a live Facebook concert event for your listening pleasure. The event will feature Cacao Magico’s delightfully delicious handmade chocolates, Barrio Bistro’s locally distilled raicilla, mezcal from De Cantaro restaurant, and appetizers created from the savory smoked meats locally made by Dean Regehr.

Mitch and Dean Regehr of Cacao Magico, Memo Wolf of Barrio Bistro, and Oliver Applegate of De Cantaro restaurant are experimenting with complimenting chocolate with cocktails made from raicilla and mezcal. Raicilla is a distilled beverage made from agave, is original to the state of Jalisco, and is legally protected by a Denomination of Origin. It is distilled from a mash of roasted and fermented agave pinas, the heart of the agave plant. It has a smoky flavor, with hints of fruity or floral essence. Mezcal is made from pit-roasted agave, leaving a smoky flavor, and is then mashed, fermented, and distilled. It also has D.O. protection limiting its production to 6 Mexican states, most of which is made in Oaxaca.

The event will be hosted by Amy Armstrong, a local celebrity of music and comedy. Originally from Chicago, Amy has been entertaining for over 20 years and has performed at several Vallarta venues including Nacho Daddy. She has recorded 7 CD’s under a record label. Since the pandemic she has livestreamed 33 events every Friday night at 7:00. Amy will be singing with guitarist Fernando Gonzales, together known as Duo Dorado. Eugenia Prieto will accompany them on the violin. They will be entertaining specially invited guests and sampling chocolate delicacies along with originally created signature beverages prepared with raicilla and mezcal.
