If you like delicious food and live music, the 5th Lo de Marcos needs to be on your agenda.
This event takes place on Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Los Delfines Party Hall (No. 9 Luis Echeverría Street), very close to the town’s main plaza.
The Taste Lo de Marcos is held to help facilitate the donations that keep this coastal village of the Riviera Nayarit in its lovely pristine condition.
The event is organized by Galván together with the support of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB), via the Nayarit Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
There will be live music from 3:30 p.m. till closing, as well as a presentation of Bahía de Banderas’ Tintoc folkloric ballet. The music is free, but given previous queries there will be chairs available for those who request them ahead of time at a cost of $100 pesos each.
There will also be a culinary sampling and food for sale courtesy of local restaurants with everything from sandwiches to gourmet food, as well several stands selling handmade creations and jewelry.
The proceeds will be donated equally to Friends of Lo de Marcos, an organization that offers services and financing for projects in this coastal village, as well as the Lo de Marcos Citizen’s Action Committee, which is responsible for organizing cultural and traditional events throughout the year.
Luis Armando Contreras Galván, president of the organizing committee, stated he was pleased to be supporting the excellent job these two entities are doing, as they are diligent in the promotion and preservation of the singular beauty of Lo de Marcos.
“We’re very happy that this event has been so successful year after year and how it truly brings the community together,” he said.
